Equator Resources Limited (“Equator” or the “Company”) was formally known as NT Resources Limited. The Company changed its name to reflect the change in focus from its exploration licences in the Northern Territory, to its exploration licences in Liberia, West Africa.
Equator is currently ramping up its exploration activities on its three licences in Liberia, which cover a total area of 1,537km² of the highly prospective Man Shield. The Man Shield has geology of Achaean and Proterozoic age, and is the host to numerous multi-million ounce gold deposits in the region.
The Company’s interest in these Liberian licences is held through Bukon Jedeh Holdings Limited and Bukon Jedeh Resources Incorporated, both of which are wholly owned subsidiaries of Equator. These companies were acquired from private interests during 2011 and will provide the focus of the Company’s exploration effort.
Acacia Minerals Pty Ltd is the holder of the Australian exploration tenements.
